Although this green discoloration may have the appearance of a mold this is NOT a mold. And this green discoloration varies from blue-green to dark green to bluish-grey and the discoloration depends on the extent of infection. Dab a thin layer of Neosporin or antibiotic ointment onto the nail bed.
Green nail syndrome GNS is an infection of the nails that leads to a greenish discoloration of nails also known as chloronychia. Clean the wound with water or saline solution. Mold is not a human pathogen.
